OENO Wines

OENO (ee- no) is owned by Amy Atwood, who also operates a wine import and distribution company, Amy Atwood Selections. She has sought out top quality vineyards in Sonoma and a like-minded CA winemaker who makes these wines to her specifications (start with pristine fruit, then use native yeasts and neutral oak). OENO Wines are made in Healdsburg, California.

Oeno is the ancient Greek word for wine, as well as the name of a goddess known for turning water into wine.

2019 Pinot noir - Russian River Valley

Single vineyard vintage facing the Russian River. Pressed with 50% of the grapes were whole cluster. Fermented with native yeast only. Aged in neutral French oak. Unfined and unfiltered before bottling.

Appearance: Medium ruby

Nose: medium(+) intensity. Aromas of redcurrants, red cherries, wet wood.

Palate: Dry, high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, medium tannins, and medium finish. Notable presence of forest floor taste along with sustaining flavours of fresh red fruits such as cranberries and red cherries.

2018 Rosé - Russian River Valley

78% Pinot Noir, 18% Zinfandel, 4% Carignan, hand-sorted, destemmed, native fermentation, all stainless steel. Tasting notes: This crisp, dry wine has white peach and strawberry flavors, with some citrus zing on the finish.

2018 Cabernet sauvignon - Sonoma County

100% Old vines grapes (1977) & single vineyard: 100% destemmed and whole cluster pressed, fermented with native yeast, and matured in 100% neutral French oak. Unfined and unfiltered before bottling.500 cases produced.

Appearance: Dark ruby

Nose: Medium(+) intensity on the aromas mixed of prune, dates, and spice.

Palate: Dry, full body, medium(+) alcohol, medium(+) tannins, and medium(+) finish. Primary flavours of baked cherry, blackberry, cocoa, pink pepper, with hints of smoke and leather.

2018 Chardonnay- Russian River Valley

Oak Bench Block Vineyard, 30-year-old vines, partial ML, 60% tank fermented + 40% neutral barrel fermented, whole cluster pressed, native fermentation, unfined and unfiltered

Tasting notes: A vibrant and refreshing chardonnay. Filled with bright citrus and luscious pear flavors. Crisp, dry finish.

NV Skin Contact Chardonnay - Russian River Valley

94% Chardonnay, 6% Pinot Noir

Blend of grapes of chardonnay and pinot noir planted 30-40 years ago across both AVAs. While the Pinot Noir was direct-pressed, the Chardonnay macerated on the skins for 20 days in neutral French oak. The wine fermented with native yeast, and was unfined and unfiltered before bottling.

Appearance: Pale orange, salmon

Nose: Pronounced intensity with pear, peach, and oxidative notes

Palate: Off-dry with hints of residual sugar, medium(+) body, medium(+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium(+) finish. Great complexity and balance between notes of ripe stone-fruits such as nectarine and peach, nuttyness flavour leading to almonds. ,
